For those who need to remember what everyone picked, I took notes!
Ellen: “I applaud you keeping your cemp (cookies and eggnog per minute passed) in a respectable margin,” “Don’t be a hero, just do anything that will positively affect your weba (wrapping efficiency base aesthetics),” “Heck yeah, add that to your HMPS+ (Holiday movies plus songs)”
Jason: receiving but not sending holiday cards, PosCast holiday draft, eating at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas
Ryan: building a snowman and naming it Parson Brown, building a snowman and naming it Terry, Christmas
Nick: alcohol, meat, making love
Brandon: department store decorations, seeing holiday decorations inside people’s houses, feeling when you get popcorn bucket with three different types of popcorn
Alexis: Christmas carols at the grocery store, small gingerbread house replica of a real building inside that real building, lit up Christmas tree at night when everything is quiet
Linda: Danish king Sweyn Forkbeard becoming first Viking king of England (overcoming Æthelred the Unready), dogs in Santa hats, eggnog riot at West Point
Molly: unfollowing anyone on social media who posts anything that mildly annoys you (including yourself), taking your dogs to see the holiday lights, all holiday cookies (especially snickerdoodles, gingerbread, star cookies)
Howard: reciprocity of cheer, the Nick Offerman Yule log, murder scenes in movies with Christmas music in the background, Harry Edwards
Alan: Holiday episodes of “Cheers,” getting presents, all holiday movies
Michael: Dallas Cowboys losing a football game, feeling when least favorite baseball team is jilted by big-time free agent, smile on child’s face when aforementioned jilting happens
Joe decided to allow it since he liked both of the things Howard was considering for his last pick, and Mike was gone so the commissioner couldn’t weigh in!
I want to vote, and just listened to the podcast a couple days ago ... but there's far too many people and picks to keep it all straight. IMHO we need everyone's selections next to their names so we know what we're voting for.
Don't take it personally. Nobody defeats Nick Offerman; you only hope he shows mercy, allows you to survive, and witnesses his Holiday Draft dominance.
Alexis Gay in a walk. She took the most amorphous of draft topics, "holiday cheer," and gave you such exact instances that you went "Oh, THAT." Particularly her second and third rounders: the gingerbread house/building that looks like the gingerbread house/building you're in; and the quiet moment, late at night, when it's just you and the lit-up Christmas tree. Her answers filled me with the joy of the season.
This is always my favorite podcast episode of the year. Not just Poscast episode, but podcast episode. Next year, I need five rounds please. Two hours is not nearly enough time to spend with these lovely, funny wackadoodles.
Mike D was missed, for sure. Nick won all the medals. The draft is excellent, but I’d like to see next year go back to the original Holiday Draft Avengers to return to its total anarchy. Just add Alexis to the original group.

Thanks for the recap! It’s hard to keep track of such a normal, simple draft!
Wait how does Howard have four picks?
Joe decided to allow it since he liked both of the things Howard was considering for his last pick, and Mike was gone so the commissioner couldn’t weigh in!

I just posted my notes from the draft. Hopefully that helps!
Yes! This is perfect. I was going to abstain, but you have reinvigorated my democratic spirit!
Placing me in the central division against Nick is like moving the Dodgers to the AL Central and expecting the Royals to have a chance. NOT cool.
Like getting drawn into a world cup group of death.
Don't take it personally. Nobody defeats Nick Offerman; you only hope he shows mercy, allows you to survive, and witnesses his Holiday Draft dominance.

Yeah, but Nick was able to keep picks to a single word.
Naming a snowman parson brown is nothing. You're supposed to pretend he's parson brown.

Agreed
I agree completely. The holiday draft should be similar to five minutes about the world series.
Wow, tough break for Jason Kander, I think he could have won the other divisions. Hard to beat Nick Offerman though.
The only thing simpler than the process for picking the winner is the draft topic itself!
Brandon clearly benefiting from a weaker and smaller division (sorry Molly, not sorry Mike). The Houston Texans of this draft.
Jason's deeply unlucky to have drawn Nick.
I gotta say, as good as Nick's draft is, those could be the winning draft picks for a LOT of draft topics. Alexis with just a masterclass.
Voted for Nick, but Ellen deserves better than the results she's getting. I'd put her as a close 2nd overall.
After voting for the East division, the other 2 polls closed. How can I vote for the other divisions?
Mike and Cowboys losing FTW!
please figure out how to release it as a video!! I needed to see Nick’s face when he said “meat”
Abstract concepts are nouns, too, Brandon.
But you’re gonna try to deliver a stinging burn to the draft, it shouldn’t be grounded in an elementary school sort of mistake.
Mike D was missed, for sure. Nick won all the medals. The draft is excellent, but I’d like to see next year go back to the original Holiday Draft Avengers to return to its total anarchy. Just add Alexis to the original group.
